Mission: Investing In Lives Is Our Treasure
Vision: Instilling Hope And Transforming Lives in Jesus’ Name, Our Given Response.
Abundant Favour International Christian Ministries was founded by the humble
Auma Agnes who came from a very humble background where she grew up
without her parents who had not passed on but had separated when she
was just two (2) years old; this made her to go through various
experiences in life.
“I hoped to enjoy parental love, care and support
but all in vain”, she lamented.
I could see my friends enjoy life as
they were being cared for by their parents and also wished to have
around any caring and loving adult but I could not find and life was
becoming more harder for me, I could sit in Isolate and weep in order
to relieve myself from stress and also comfort myself since there was
no one to do so.
Matters worsened when I was 5 years old still walking naked and there
was no one to provide food, clothing and other basic needs of life
like medication, security for me. I remember very well that I was
about 9 years but I was not yet at school and the best our caretaker
could tell me to do was to distill alcohol, no one was there to
advocate for my rights as a child, thanks be to God that there came a
very old man who finally advocated for my rights whenever he could
come to drink, he could say that a child should not be given work
beyond her capacity and age. He continued and said that children
should be educated and one could be discriminated against basing on
sex thus whether a boy or a girl and whoever succeed, succeeds.
One day since this man had spoken in my hearing severally, I decided
to take myself to school where I arrived at around 10:00am as I had to
finish all the house chores before I could go to school. At school I
also faced lots of resistance and challenges, my friends could laugh
at me that I was over aged for the grade in which I was but I had to
persist and go to school in spite of the oppositions both at school
and home.
I felt so inferior, unlucky and rejected when the church where I
always went for my Sunday school lessons got sponsorship programs for
children but they did not pick on me and yet I believed they
understood the conditions in which I was going through. I decided to
leave going to church as I felt that church also discriminates just as
it was at home, I saw no difference, I thanked God who kept me going
on at school and later saved.
I could struggle with issues but I had no one to share with, since
there manifested no caring adult in my life, I thank my primary and
secondary teachers who endeavored to give us general advice in class,
it helped me.
At home I was forced to get married to fishermen but by God’s grace
the drunkard man said that children should not be forced to go for
early marriages. To me the church did not play its expected role in my
life when I was young, I believe I was looked at as a less potential
and less important person but God had known his purpose for me and I
hope it was that purpose that God stuck on and helped me in his own
ways.
Basing on the above experience God shaped me in the way he wanted me
to be in order to accomplish his noble task. I don’t minimize the fact
that there are many children around the world weeping and wailing for
help from any caring and loving individual(s), even the Bible says in
James 2:17 that faith has to be accomplished with actions, without it
is dead.
When I had finished my advanced level, I had to look for something to
do to enable me to join university where I went to another village
secondary school and could volunteer there; teaching children while
there, I found out a girl who was passing through hard conditions as
she narrated her story to me, I felt touched and I was convicted to
start helping her in most affairs but main of it to acquire her
education even though I did not earn much and also had my hurting
issues. God helped me and as per now she holds a diploma in social
works and social administration. I thank our faithful God for His
Grace.
After acquiring my diploma in Local Government Finance Management, I
got a Ministry Opportunity in Child Ministry in a Church, this enabled
me to rent a room (s) and also adopt more children so that I may be
able to attend to their needs with the little provisions from God. I
named the family I am looking at that Hope Family even though I was
still single but I loved to care and support my adopted children thus
12 boys and 7 girls. It is from this Hope Family that God gave me a
vision of starting a more wide range organization in the names of
Favour International Christian Ministries together with the stated
mission and vision. He also gave me a scripture from the book of
Proverbs 31:8-9 which states that “Speak for them, protect the rights
of all who are helpless. Speak for them and be a righteous judge.
Protect the rights of the poor and needy.
Later on my friends Faustine who is also taking care of his orphaned 5
brothers, 3 sisters and more 2 adopted children plus 1 (one) widow
joined me. We have been encouraging and helping each other in hard
situations and always praying for each other’s family but we felt the
task was becoming too big for only two people to accomplish, given the
limited resources as many children were being directed to us and many
are hurting right from within our area to a wider environment.
Currently we are a group of 13 people and we are a registered CBO,
though we have not yet gotten financial through [funders] but we thank
God for the far He is taking us.

Help A child live a better life
When you give, you give hope and transform lives of children who are disdvantaged.
